Parking Wars

This past weekend I watched Parking Wars on AETV for the first time.

I have to admit that I’m addicted to the program.

I set my DVR to pick up some episodes of the show throughout the week and instead of working on stuff like I should be I find myself watching Parking Wars.

The show covers the day-to-day of the Philadelphia Parking Authority and shows it from several aspects.

Usually at the beginning of the program you walk along with the enforcement officers who typically write tickets for meters, parking in tow zones and other violations. It seems that every episode you see the officers getting yelled at, cussed at, and belittled.

One of my personal favorite parts in the booting. Teams of two will ride around in a van and run license plate numbers and if they get a “hit” for outstanding tickets or violations they will place a boot on the car so it can not be drove away and call it in for a tow. This part of the show is by far the most exciting as it seems every episode someone comes out and gets pissed off about the boot.

The final segment of the show typically shows the impound lot and the people who have to come in to try and get a car out. This is where tempers can fly as people find out they have to pay for the tow and the storage fees.

All in all it is a great program and I highly recommend everyone give it a watch to see what its like on the other end of that ticket that was written.
